Last week I drove from Southern California to Denver, to visit three of my grandchildren. While it’s not exactly street photography, please meet Tabitha (5 months), Franco (2/ 1/2) and Enzo (almost seven).
The technical side: Shot with an Olympus OMD 5 and a Zuiko 17mm. The OMD 5 has a crop factor of 2X, so effective focal length was 34mm. Settings were f2.8 and aperture priority (a few were at f4.0). Auto ISO. Everything looked a little warm, to me, so I cooled off most files in LR5 to about 4300K.
I used the LCD to frame. AF was on and I was a bit disappointed with the softness. SInce the subjects were children, I still found the soft focus usable, but I didn’t love it. In most cases, I added a little clarity, in LR5.
Before I get in trouble with my daughter, re: her decorating skills: They are moving, so the walls are bare, and packing boxes abound. 🙂
