Today, I decided to take a Saturday walk in downtown Huntington Beach, CA. While I grew up in Western Pennsylvania, I’ve been in Southern California since the early 1980s and Huntington Beach has been my adopted home for nearly a dozen years. I never seem to get tired of photographing it, especially the downtown area.
While we have a lot of visitors during the summer months, you can still hear a few foreign languages, on the pier, on a December weekend. However, there were no large crowds, today, and the weather was perfect.
This first photo is of a house just a block from Main Street. I should go back, tomorrow, and see if, maybe, they were hanging holiday decorations.
Huntington Beach is a bicycle and dog friendly town (OK, not everyone picks up after their dogs. Regardless of where you live, there is always someone who sucks.) Today, they were not downtown.
One of my favorite things about Main Street is the number of places to get a latte, grab lunch, or just people watch.
Huntington Beach is known as Surf City so here is the obligatory surfing photo.
I wasn’t the only photographer on the pier, on Saturday.
