A Puppy Trying To Keep His Eyes Open

Nothing to see here, folks — except Casper trying to keep his eyes open, but it’s only 20 seconds of your life, so take a look. πŸ™‚

I just bought a Polaroid Cube+ camera to accompany the iPhone and Olympus OMD-EM10-ii on my pending trip to Europe. Hopefully, some combination ofthe three will allow me to create some interesting images to share with you, over the next 2-3 months.

By this time, next week, I’ll be in Paris, for four days. On the 18th, I fly to Bilbao and make a little triangle with Pamplona and San Sebastian, before heading across the north of Spain and down to Porto and Lisbon.

If there is anyone, along the way, who would like to grab coffee, do some people watching, or have their portrait made — no charge πŸ™‚ –, please use the Contact Form, or message me on Facebook.

I’ll try to update my itinerary, as best I can, so you can follow along, if you wish.

Olympus OMD-EM10-ii in Downtown Huntington Beach

I hadn’t been downtown, recently, and it was the last holiday weekend of the summer — and I had not done any steet walking with my new Olympus OMD-EM10-ii in downtown Huntington Beach (or anyplace), so I put the Zuiko 9mm Bodycap Lens on, set the mode to Aperture Priority (the 9MM BCP has a fixed aperture of f/8), dialed in a -.3 exposure compensation, and went for a walk.

All the images were converted to b&w in Lightroom CC, and a bit of contrast was added. Some correction was made for the curvature caused by the 9mm BCP lens, due to it’s 140 degrees field of view. Basically, I just straightened the horizon, a wall of a building, a tree — but, if you are going to shoot with this lens, I think you need to embrace the curvature that it creates, and not obsess over ‘correcting’ it.

There are 84 images, below. I won’t feel bad if you don’t look at them all! πŸ™‚
